Russian construction output down by 4.3% in 2016

Construction output in Russia decreased in December 2016 by 1.4% year on year in real terms, according to preliminary data of the State Statistics Service (Rosstat). By way of comparison, in December 2015 the indicator contracted by 3.9%. In value terms, construction output slightly increased on a year-on-year basis (+0.6%) as it was worth RUB 890.3bn (€13.95bn) in December 2016.

In January-December 2016, construction output in Russia fell by 4.3% year on year in real terms, against 4.8% fall in the previous year. At the same time, construction and assembly works' value went slightly up (by 0.6%) from RUB 6,148.4bn (€96.37bn) in 2015 to RUB 6,184.4bn (€96.94bn) in 2016.
